Congratulations to Ms Cross and the Halifax West Senior Improv Team “Family Fun Time”. The team won the Canadian Improv Games Regional Tournament this past weekend and will once again represent Nova Scotia in the National Tournament which takes place in Ottawa this March! The team is the first Nova Scotia High School to win three years in a row in the 15 years that the tournament has been played in NS. As well, three of our students have the distinct honor of having won all three years.
The Senior Team: Cait Macmullin, Connor McKiggan, Coleman Merry, Yvan Kammelu, Jared Taylor, and Susan Wallace.
Our intermediate team “becoming a blueberry” finished 6th, which was a huge accomplishment as we were the only school to have 2 teams place in top 7.
Intermediate Team Members: Lilly Kirk, Victor Lamoureux, Chris Duvar, Alison Dickson, Olivia Trivett, Evin Landry, and Oliver Oldfield.
Thank you Ms Cross for your dedication to our Improv Teams.

It will also be an opportunity to highlight the vast amount of talent at Halifax West High School. The night will be filled with music, dance, spoken word, and more! Come join us to learn how we can all look after our mental health!
The Broadway award winning musical Man of La Mancha is a remarkable show and one of the great theatre successes of our time. Poet and playwright Miguel de Cervantes is awaiting trial by the Spanish Inquisition when his fellow prisoners seize and try to burn his masterpiece manuscript, Don Quxiote. To save the manuscript, he stages a poignant story of a man whose obsessive Quest to attain an impossible dream takes over his mind. Don Quixote’s dream is Everyman’s dream. His tilting at windmills is Everyman’s Great Adventure. As the footlights disappear, time is telescoped and the Man of La Mancha speaks for mankind. The iconic song “To Dream the Impossible Dream” will remain in your thoughts and in your soul well after you see the show.
